GP Capodarco 1.2 178km 16/8/06
The GP Capodarco is one of the most important races on the Italian calender and attracts huge crowds and a large field. The course strarts with 50 kilometres around a circuit on the beach before beginning the tough 17 kilometre lap of the hilly circuit of 7 laps. It was a very animated race with several big groups getting clear. On the final lap the British and Australian teams shut down a one minute gap to a large group and the race was decided on the last climb. Matt wasn't able to hold off a late move and ran 5th behind winner, Marco Bandiera from Zalf.
