Tour of Britain stage 8
A massive crowd greated the riders in Liverpool when the final stage arrived there in today's stage of the Tour of Britain.
The sun finally came out for the last stage of the Tour of Britain from Blackpool to Liverpool. There was a break in the middle stages but that was brought back by the sprinters team on the finish circuit of 6 laps of 4.8kilometers in front of a massive crown. Zak Dempster was well place on the first of these laps but crashed heavily and lost too much time to regain the bunch. Alessandro Petacchi won his 3rd stage for the week and Geoffroy Lequatre took the overall win. For the South Australia.com AIS boys it was a great experience racing some of the “big boys” and even giving them an occasional scare. It was also great loading for next weeks World Championships in Varese.
